Pet Boarding
We have a full boarding kennel with large runs and kennel spaces. Our priority is the comfort of your pet while you are away. Dogs are provided private playtime in our fenced yard as well as beds and blankets as allowed in their kennel spaces. We have a private “cat ward” with spacious kennels to provide a comfortable and stress free environment for your cat while you are away. Our trained kennel technicians monitor and interact with your pet throughout the day and are skilled at medicating pets as needed. For the safety of all boarding animals, we do require all pets to be up to date on their core vaccinations 2 weeks prior to their reservation and have a negative fecal within the past year. Any pets found with fleas will be treated appropriately.
While we provide veterinary care to all dogs, we do not board aggressive dogs that cannot be safely handled by a single technician.
Preparing Your Pet for Boarding
Our pets are more than just animals; they’re a cherished part of our family. We understand how much you care about their well-being, especially when you can’t be by their side. That’s why choosing the right pet boarding solution matters so much – it’s all about keeping your pet comfortable, safe, and happy during your absence. At Westwood Pet Care in Dothan, AL, we’re not just a team of professionals; we’re pet enthusiasts ourselves. We offer both dog and cat boarding, and we promise to look after your pets as if they were our own.
We have an entire page dedicated to helping you prepare for boarding.
Boarding Paperwork
Like most pet boarding facilities, we require that each pet be up to date on certain vaccines and that each pet have certain paperwork on file, like instructions for dealing with emergencies. For boarders that do not have a veterinary relationship with Westwood Pet Care, we may require vaccine records from your primary veterinarian. You can pre-fill out our boarding paperwork prior to arriving by clicking the link below.
You may print and sign the paperwork, or you may sign when you drop off your pet. If you are unable to drop off your pet personally, please ensure that you send someone you trust to sign your boarding paperwork as your agent.
Trust Our Facility for Your Pet’s Boarding
When you’re away, you want your pet to be in hands that you trust, the hands of someone who knows your pet almost as well as you do. That’s where our veterinary team comes in. Boarding with us gives your pet a comforting sense of familiarity, and the added benefit of immediate professional assistance if your pet needs it. Plus, since we already know your pet’s health history, we can better serve them during their stay.
Westwood Pet Care has a few advantages over some other boarding facilities:
- A veterinarian is ultimately responsible for your pet’s well-being
- Trained staff to administer medications
- For existing clients, we are familiar with their medical needs
- For existing clients, your pets will already be familiar with the facility, which can help with stress
