International Health Certificates
Dr. Joki is a USDA Accredited veterinarian and is dedicated to helping your international travel with your pet be as smooth as possible. While travel with pets is stressful, it is more stressful when you are working with customs between countries and having all of your paperwork together makes a big difference. Dr. Joki will discuss all requirements for your pets travel as well as provide pet travel tips and guidance and prescribe sedatives if needed for keeping your pet as comfortable on their trip as possible.
For all International Health Certificates we urge you to schedule a consult appointment with us as soon as you know you plan to travel. Some countries require 6+ months of prep work and specific testing requirements for your pet. IHCs often need to be endorsed by the USDA which increases wait times before receiving the official documents.
Please visit: https://www.aphis.usda.gov/pet-travel/us-to-another-country-export to find out specific requirements for your country of travel. It is important to contact your airline or other method of travel as well to determine any other specific requirements.
For your visit, please bring all original rabies and health certificates and/or pertinent tests. We recommend forwarding any previous vet records to us prior to you appointment as well so we can more easily determine what vaccines and test are required for your pet to travel.
Our veterinarian and staff are trained in health certificate preparation for dogs and cats. If you are seeking a health certificate for another species please call and discuss with us to see what we can do!
Please fill out our International Health Certificate Questionnaire before your appointment with Dr. Joki. It gathers vital info about your pet’s health and travel history, allowing us to tailor our services to your needs. Access the questionnaire below.
