A 1977 graduate of the Auburn College of Veterinary Medical Medicine, Dr. Fontaine is a past president of the Southeast Alabama Veterinary Medical Association and is a member of the Greater Dothan Veterinary Medical Association. In addition, he maintains memberships in the AVMA and ALVMA. Practicing in the Wiregrass since 1977, he opened Westwood Pet Care in 2002.
He and his wife, Adrienne, have one son, Dan, and a daughter-in-law, Laura, and a grandson, Evan. Dr. Fontaine enjoys a number of hobbies including music (jazz bass, guitar and banjo), riding his recumbent bicycle, cooking and gardening.
Lynn is Westwood's most avid cat lover. In her years at Westwood we have lost count of the number of cats she has had as pets. Many now live with her father, who is also a cat lover. Lynn graduated from Daleville High School.
Lynn and her husband have one son and two beautiful cats. Her smiling face can usually be found at the front desk, helping our clients or in the back, loving on the cats who are staying with us. Lynn stays busy at Westwood, with her family and her church, but finds time to enjoy watching baseball. She loves the Atlanta Braves and the Montgomery Biscuits.
Kim is a Dothan native and a graduate of Rehobeth High School. She is attending Wallace Junior College and is preparing to earn her degree as a veterinary technician. Kim may be found most anywhere at Westwood. She does animal care and assists with exams and treatments. She is also learning lab techniques. Kim is married and has 3 cats and a German shepherd. Kim enjoys movies and travel and is a sports fan. She is an Auburn supporter and also a fan of North Carolina State since her grandfather played football there. Kim is a real animal lover and a welcome member of the Westwood team.
Jessica has lived in Dothan since she was six years old and is a graduate of Rehobeth High School. She has some nursing training, and is going to school to pursue that field.
We are not sure which Jessica loves more - animals or people. She has two dogs and a cat and spends almost every day taking care of the patients at Westwood, but she says she also enjoys spending time with her human friends. She says her interests outside of work are reading and watching movies and she always tries to involve her wide circle of friends. Her easy going personality is an asset at Westwood with our patients and their people.
Kaitlin joined the Westwood staff in July 2015. She is a Dothan Native who is doing pre-vet studies locally and plans to transfer to Auburn to pursue her DVM degree. Kaitlin has a number of animals both large and small, but says she is most involved with her dog Ava.
While her primary responsibilities are as kennel assistant, she can often be seen assisting with appointments and treatments and occasionally surgery. Westwood folks can look forward to getting to know Kaitlin until she moves to Auburn. We are not sure when that will be, but it will be our loss and Auburn's gain.
When you meet Elizabeth Horn she will almost certainly be smiling. She loves her job and it shows. Elizabeth has been a great addition to the staff and goes about her job cheerfully and efficiently.
She says that her and husband Brian's hobby is supporting their kids in the school athletics and activities. And thankfully, she still has time to assist at Westwood. Elizabeth graduated from Dothan High School. She has a dog named Buddy and a cat, Smokey. She is planning to go back to school in either veterinary or human medicine. We bet she will be a success at whichever she chooses.
